About Us
Haven Camp Development specializes in staff training. We touch on group management, social emotional dynamics, game play, and accommodations for special needs. Among us, our team has over 80 years of camp experience. Our goal at HCD is to help other camps and organizations enhance the experience for their campers and staff.
Meet the team
Camp has been a part of Wendy’s life for over 40 years. She has been a director in both overnight and day camps in various parts of the country. While camp has been a major part of her life, she also has over 25 years of teaching and coaching experience in Chicago Public Schools. Wendy specializes in group management, game play, and social emotional learning.
Naz’s camp experience extends back to 2006. He has served as a counselor, coach, director, and now owns his own day camp. He also has been an elementary PE teacher for a decade, working with ages from 5 - 11. Naz’s specialties include group engagement, game play, and cultivating positive group dynamics.
Matt’s camp involvement spans 20 years as a camper, counselor, age-level director, and inclusion specialist. In addition to this, Matt has been an elementary school special education teacher for the last 11 years. He wants to pass on his positive camp experiences so others can have as much of a fulfilling experience as camp was for him.
